The end of the school year is quickly approaching and at an earlier date than expected. June 5th is the last day for online learning and the last day to submit assignments.
All completed assignments will increase High School midterm marks for their final mark. All Elementary & Jr. High final report cards will not include marks, only comments on Literacy, Math and Mi'kmaw and Social Studies. Report cards will be distributed via email on Thursday, June 18th. Incentives will be distributed Friday, June 5th.
On Friday June 5th, LSK students' belongings will be available to be picked up at the front entrance of LSK, along with incentive cheques and summer readings books. These items will be available for pick up from 12:00-4:00 pm.
We would like to thank all students and their parents and guardians for their hard work during the COVID-19 shutdowns. We know online learning was a new experience and required dealing with many hurdles and learning new skills and strategies to assist our students in continuing their learning journeys. This was not only not only new parents but for many of our staff as well. Our community and staff have done a great job in supporting our students and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work.
Staff have been completing many online professional development activities to continue to provide the best education to our students both online and in person. We were not expecting our school year would end early this year and it is uncertain how September will look. We are preparing a plan for uncertainty and possible solutions for September. We may or may not still be in a pandemic and self isolating.
The staff at LSK would like to wish our students and families a safe and happy summer.
