We have had a busy month of learning in the resource room! Our 7-9 students have been working on vocabulary building and reading fluency, and are just beginning to write creative fairy tales with a moral.
We had a special field trip on October 18th with Mason Pierro-MacDonald. Mason is a lover of classical music, so we were very lucky to have the opportunity to attend a performance of Jeremey Dutcher along with symphony Nova Scotia.
Jeremy Dutcher is a member of the Tobique First Nation, one of six Wolastoqiyik reserves in New Brunswick. Dutcher delivered these words in English and in his traditional Wolastoq language, with the phrase: "Psiw-te npomawsuwinuwok, kiluwaw yut!" Translated: "All of my people, this is for you!"
The music was beautiful and we all agreed it was a wonderful experience!
